When attempting to pick among the various sizes of our Gymnastic Octagon Training Mats available, a good rule of thumb is that each of the octagon tumbling mat sizes is designed for use by a specific age group and size of athlete.

Choosing the best-size octagon tumbler mat depends on the user’s height. These are general guidelines:

• 20 inches: Suitable for people 35 inches tall or under.
• 25 inches: Suitable for people between 35 and 43 inches tall.
• 30 inches: Suitable for people between 44 and 53 inches tall.
• 35 inches: Suitable for people between 54 and 63 inches tall.
• 40 inches: Suitable for people 64 inches tall and above.

The 35×40-inch and 40×40-inch octagon mats are too large to fit through standard doors. Most standard exterior doors are approximately 36 inches wide, while interior doors may be narrower. To avoid any issues, it is essential to measure your doorway dimensions before ordering a large-sized octagon mat, especially if you do not have an extra-wide door.

The mats are available in six sizes, including the small 15 by 24 inch option, as well as the large 40 by 40 inch mat. The larger sizes are great for cheerleading teams, and the 40 by 40 inch mat will split into two halves to be used for smaller skill development routines.
